IPHONE 2G OR 3G. IM GOING TO BUY ONE. WHICH ONE?

hello. Iam going to buy an iphone but don't know which one should i buy. A store is offering a iphone 2g 8GB BRAND NEW SEALED (RARE NOWADAYs) for $420. Someone is offering an iphone 3g MINT Condition 8GB BLACK for $420 too. Should i get the iphone 2g 8GB because it is new and stuff? Or should i go with the used mint condition iphone 3g which has no scratches what so ever? I don't use 3G or internet but it is cool to use a gps lol. So which one is better for me. I don't care about design just a good stable device that would last me for at least 2 years before i switch to a next one. The battery would last a long time and would not break cause i heard alot of bad news about the iphone that it cost alot to change the battery....
