As with everything, fine art too has gone through varying stages, depicting the trend of the moment and the subsequent movement on to the next phrase. For fine art, London has many galleries where paintings are on display and in some cases, even purchased.
Man has always had a need to depict - to put to paper or canvas thoughts, feelings and impressions. Some of these works truly inspire us and leave a lasting impression. These works usually become known as fine art and people appreciate the emotions it generates within us and is recognized for its ability to cause emotion. People are diverse and artists had and have different forms that they adhere to for. For example some artist specialised in landscapes and breathtaking views, others preferred still objects like vases, tables and chairs, another group did individual portraits, while others liked to capture motion by painting dancers etc. Usually an artist stuck to his or her preferred subject right through out and with a style that remains distinctly theirs. This is how art critics are able to instantly recognize a specific artist’s work instantly, even if the painting may not be signed. The styles, strokes, the use of colour and subject manner are in most cases extremely distinct and recognizable.
In order to truly recognize and define the type of art that appeals to you, it is always best to get an overall understanding of the different styles and techniques. For instance gauge to see how you react to Impressionist work, which rather than depicting the subject matter as it is, instead deals with and portrays the impression the subject matter creates. Usually through the use of colour and textures the Impressionist artists created an emotional piece of work rather than artistic. On the opposite side of the spectrum were the Victorian artists who followed a more realistic approach to depicting their subject matter. These usually included beautiful landscapes or heart warming images of puppies, kittens or a mother with her children. For these artists, it was more about bringing out the inner beauty of the subject with most having an ethereal quality despite the everydayness of their subjects. The modernists again veered towards the school of Impressionism but with much sharper edges and were more abstract in its definition and depiction.

My yahoo vista will not connect to the internet. I have a new computer with vista. It downloaded.?
I have a new dell with Vista. I downloaded yahoo messenger vista. I try to use it and it will not connect to the internet. I get a not connected message. I also have aol with dial up connection. I'm connecting to the internet fine (see?). Any help? Thanks.
I also get some problems with Yahoo Messenger in Vista. My version is 8.1.0.244. I can sign in, but once i do, i cannot move the Yahoo Messenger window around at all - it is locked to the desktop somehow. There are also some graphical glitches that come from moving the mouse pointer across different areas of the Messenger window. According to the Yahoo website, they are working on a truly Vista-compatible version. Until that version is released, i'm going to expect the problems to continue.
anyway what I did was, i download the old version of Yahoo messenger, specifically Yahoo Messenger VERSION 7. For any reasons, that seems to be the only version that currently works for Vista hoped my experience has helped you
