**The situation**

There's been continued transition in the Tampa Bay secondary lately, and there
are likely more changes to come.

For now, the Bucs have a need at cornerback and safety. The cornerback
position was beefed up with the arrival of Lions free agent Eric Wright. He'll
either start at right cornerback or compete there with Ronde Barber, who, by
the way, is probably in his final season.

Further complicating matters is the status of Aqib Talib. He faces a trial
this summer for a felony charge in Texas that could result in prison time, not
to mention an NFL suspension. Even if Talib walks and is not disciplined by
the league, he's in the final year of his rookie contract and it's practically
inconceivable that the Bucs would re-sign him.

Depth is a concern in the cornerback ranks, too. When the Bucs last season
went to nickel and dime packages with three or four cornerbacks, quarterbacks
successfully picked on backups E.J. Biggers or Myron Lewis. The slow growth of
Lewis, in particular, has been an issue. He was a third-round choice in 2010.

My dog has a red bump near his anus, help?

i have a shit zu, and he has a small red bump about the size of a dime near her anus and it seems to be bleeding a tiny bit, what is this. As a side note, my aunt's dog(lasa apsa) had something similar to this last week, but the bump was much much larger, and it bled more also. Could my dog have contracted this from my aunts dog?(my aunt's vet said it wasnt contagious) I'm not sure what this is so if anyone can help that would be helpful
its not on the anus it self but about 1/2 inch below

Actually, it sounds like he may have impacted anal glands.

Dogs have two glands, or sacs, beneath the skin near the anus, one on each side. They are similar to a skunk's scent glands, and they give each pet's anal region and feces a distinctive odor. The glands secrete a liquid that's usually pressed out during each bowel movement. When the feces are too soft and don't exert enough pressure to empty the glands as they pass, or if the glands produce too much, the liquid can thicken and clog up the glands.

A clogged anal glad is tender and swollen. It can eventually abscess and rupture, with lots of bloody or puss drainage. This requires a visit to the vet right away. You'll know that your dogs glands have become infected if they are red, discolored and very painful. Other signs include fever, loss of appetite and lethargy. You may also see a blister around the area. DO NOT TRY TO EXPRESS THE GLANDS YOURSELF AT THIS POINT!

It's very important to see your vet as soon as possible.

In my experience, I see this a lot in small breeds, like Shih Tzus. A regular trip to the groomer for anal gland expression will help prevent this. It's very cheap, too. Only around $5.
