How many people do you think can play together with a 500 Piece Poker Set with2 decks of cards, Dice & Chips?
I'm planning a big party and I wanted to know, if I had a 500 piece poker set, how many people could comfortably play at once.
Does anyone know?
I guess that depends on the game you want to play. I'll assume you actually want to play Poker, but even then there are so many versions of poker it's hard to say.
If you want to play Texas Hold 'em, which is the most popular form of poker at the moment, then you can VERY comfortably have 10 people playing all at one table. Whoever is going to be dealer next will get the "other" deck of cards and they can shuffle during the current hand being played.
If you really want to, you can have 2 tables playing for 20 people total. That would be the maximum I would suggest. Then one table gets one deck, the other table gets the other deck.
Decide if you want this to be a CASH game or a TOURNAMENT. In a cash game, every hand someone wins, they keep that money. (Until they lose the money in another hand!) In a tournament, you would keep playing until everyone is eliminated except for a winner.
If you choose to play a Tournament, do some on-line searches for "How to run a poker tournament". There is an endless supply of good websites that show you how to set up and run this.
If you are more into playing 7-Card Stud, then only go with 8 people per table, so 16 maximum if you're playing with 2 tables. If you're playing 5-card draw, although you CAN go with more, I wouldn't suggest going higher than 6 people per table.
